JUST BEGINNING HORSE SHOW

This show is designed for those who have only been riding and taking lessons for a short period of time but want to test their skills in a horse show environment.  We will discuss each class and what is expected in the ring on our website and before each class.  This is a FRIENDLY beginner horse show and is open to everyone.  Please no green horses, stallions or dogs. HELMETS REQUIRED OF ALL RIDERS!  Negative coggins required for all horses trailered in.   Ages apply from January 1st of that year. (the age you were January 1st is the age that you are in the divisions.)  If we have extra lesson horses available after our students have picked a mount they will be available at an extra class fee for use.  Please remember that this is a beginner show, foul language and disrespect to fellow competitors, families or show staff will not be tolerated.

CLASS LIST

Great Prizes and Ribbons to 6th place

$10 a class

1. Knowledge (Hippology) Class (NO HORSE NEEDED) Takes place in barn

Beginner*Intermediate* Advanced

    This is a class that tests the individuals knowledge of the horse's anatomy, the breeds, basic tack and health care.  There are three different tests, beginner, intermediate and advanced.  Each individual will be tested by themselves and if there is a tie there will be harder questions until a winner is announced. 

2. Lead Line-Equitation (your riding position)- 

The judge will only be judging the individual's seat position, evaluating the leg position, balance and hands.

3. Lead Line-Balance (No stirrups and arms held out)

The judge will ne judging the rider's ability to balance and maintain leg position while they have no stirrups and their arms are held out to the side.

4. Walk Only-Ages 4-12
Judged on equitation on the rail as well as steering, there will be no line up or back

5. Walk Only-Ages 12-21
Judged on equitation on the rail as well as steering, there will be no line up or back

6. Walk Only-Open (all ages)
Judged on equitation on the rail as well as steering.  There will be a line up as well as a back.

7. Western Pleasure-Walk-Jog

8. Beginner -Walk/Trot (wrong diagonals not penalized-judged on correct position

9. Intermediate English-Walk-Trot
Wrong diagonals penalized-judged on equitation

10. Trail Class- poles, tarp and first stage of gate
Trail obstacles will be posted the day of the show

11. Competitive Trail-timed- the more points the better
Trail obstacles will have certain points, the riders will have 3 minutes to complete as many obstacle as they can the most points win.

12. Egg and spoon
You have to keep your egg balanced on your sppon, while steering and staying on the rail

13. Ride a buck-winner takes all (can use a saddle)
You will need a dollar bill, that dollar bill will be tucked between your knee and the saddle, the last person that has the dollar inbetween their leg and the horse collects all the dollars.  IF YOU ARE A WALK ONLY RIDER AND KEEP YOUR DOLLAR YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFED IF THE COMPETITION COMES TO A TROT TO DETERMINE THE WINNER.

Refreshments will be available and plenty of parking as well.
